Full Professor of Hygiene and Public Health at the University of Rome "Foro Italico" and Director of the Laboratory of Epidemiology and Biotechnology; he was Dean of the Faculty and Coordinator of the GSMS Working Group of the Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health.

Editor of the One Health section of the journal Water. Author of books, patents in the field of prevention, scientific publications, and editor of a volume on swimming pool hygiene. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of ForumPiscine.
