UNI standards, updates on starting platforms, water slides and domestic swimming pools

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 14:00 - 15:00

The seminar organized by UNI aims to illustrate recent developments in European technical standards for both public and residential swimming pools, which are of interest to all stakeholders in the sector. Specifically, the following will be presented:

  • the new requirements introduced in the 2025 edition of UNI EN 13451-4 "Swimming pool equipment - Part 4: Additional specific safety requirements and test methods for starting platforms." The standard has been revised to increase the safety of starting platforms so that they can be used for more than just competitions.
  • the requirements that will be introduced in the next edition of the two parts of UNI EN 1069 "Water slides." The content of the two new documents has been revised so that future editions can be applied to all public water slides installed in open water or swimming pools. Therefore, the scope of application has been extended to aquatic facilities other than the swimming pools considered previously.
  • the revision of UNI EN 16713-3:2016 "Domestic swimming pools - Water distribution systems - Part 3: Water treatment - Requirements" has begun, making it necessary to align its content with the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), which has been amended in recent years.
